Category talk:Strange Plays
Of course I wasn't there, but I read in Baseball Digest of a Strange Play that supposed to have taken place in the Pacific Coast League in the 1950's....a triple play where no defender touched the ball.....it went like this....sacks loaded, none out; batter pops her up to shortstop; the umpire calls "infield fly" so the batter is out (1), the runner on first has taken off and passes the runner who has remained at second; he's out (2), now the batted ball lands on the runner from first as he's going for third (3) Triple play - awarded to the s/s who was the nearest defender.
