Biographical Information

Bill Tierney, who was born and died in Boston, MA, played one game with the 1882 Cincinnati Red Stockings and one with the 1884 Baltimore Monumentals. The Red Stockings finished in first place while the Monumentals were an above-.500 team.

Sporting Life of May 27, 1883, states Tierney was released by the Anthracites. The June 24 issue of the same year says that Tierney, "late of the Athletic", was playing with Newark.
