Biographical Information[edit]

In parts of three seasons with the New York Yankees during the Horace Clarke era (1969 to 1971), Bill Burbach was 6-11 with a 4.48 ERA in 37 games (28 starts). In his second big league start, the second game of an April 20, 1969 doubleheader with the Detroit Tigers, he limited a lineup featuring Al Kaline, Norm Cash and Willie Horton to five singles and two walks in a 2-0 shutout. Pitching for the Greensboro Yankees in 1966, Bill had an ERA of 2.19, but due to little run support, he was 3-14.
