First baseman Arthur Murphy played in the minor leagues from 1917 to 1927, according to his obituary, [1] last appearing for the Oakland Oaks of the Pacific Coast League. In 1927, he was the first of two managers for the Ogden Gunners, being replaced by Del Baker partway through the season. He also played for the House of David barnstorming team.

He later served in the Idaho State House of Representatives from 1937 to 1956 and in the state's Senate from 1957 until his death.

His year of birth has also been listed as 1901.[2]
