Biographical Information[edit]

Starting pitcher Armando Rodriguez began his professional career in 2007.

Rodriguez began his professional career in 2007 with the DSL Mets, going 2-2 with a 3.46 ERA in 11 games (two starts), while striking out 29 batters in 26 innings. In 2008, again with the DSL Mets, Rodriguez went 4-4 with a 2.62 ERA in 15 games (13 starts), this time striking out 81 batters in 72 innings. He moved stateside in 2009, pitching with the Kingsport Mets and Savannah Sand Gnats and posting a 5-2 record with a 2.74 ERA in 12 starts. In 2010, Rodriguez went 8-9 with a 3.08 ERA in 27 starts for the Sand Gnats, striking out 152 batters in 146 innings. He was 4-4 with a 3.96 ERA in 16 starts for the St. Lucie Mets in 2011 and in 2012, he was 2-3 with a 3.16 ERA in 35 appearances, mostly in relief and mostly spent with the Binghamton Mets. He also made a start for the Triple-A Buffalo Bisons, posting a 2.08 ERA in 4 1/3 innings. Between Binghamton and the Triple-A Las Vegas 51s in 2014, Rodriguez was 2-4 with a 4.81 ERA in 50 relief appearances. He had a 1.40 ERA in 23 appearances for the Leones del Escogido during the 2013-2014 Dominican Winter League season. He moved to Mexico for the 2014 campaign after being signed and released by the Texas Rangers, going 7-6 with 12 saves, a 2.95 ERA and a 10.4 K/9 IP ratio in 47 games for the Saraperos de Saltillo. He pitched for the Olmecas de Tabasco in 2015, going 4-3 with a 2.85 ERA in 68 games. He had a 10.3 K/9 IP ratio. With the Olmecas in 2016, Rodriguez went 2-2 with a 2.70 ERA in 22 relief appearances.

He was a Mid-Season All-Star in 2012 and 2015.

He spent many seasons playing in winter leagues, last for the Leones del Caracas of the Venezuelan Winter League in 2016-17.
