Hall of Famer Ray Brown pitched a seven-inning no-hitter for the Washington-Homestead Grays against the Chicago American Giants on August 12, winning 7-0 in the second game of a double-header. It was common practice of the Negro Leagues to schedule second games for only seven innings.

Postseason[edit]

In the Negro World Series, the Cleveland Buckeyes (NAL) defeated the Homestead Grays (NNL), 4 games to 0.
