The 1937 International League season was noted for the performance of the Newark Bears, who went 109-43 and would become one of the few minor league teams to have a book written about their exploits (The '37 Newark Bears). The team was loaded with talent, including Joe Gordon, Charlie Keller and Atley Donald. The Bears set the International League record for wins in a 154-game schedule.
